A certified nursing assistant is a person that provides medical assistance to patients and they work under the supervision of a licensed practical nurse or a registered nurse.  If you are unsure that this is a good career path for you, here is a look at some of the reasons you should seriously consider becoming a certified nursing assistant.

Reason #1 – Quick Training

One of the main reasons that you should consider becoming a certified nursing assistant is because of the quick training. Although some positions in the medical field can take several years, within about 6-10 weeks, depending on where you get your training, you can become a CNA. This means that in less than three months you can get the training that you need to enter a new career. While you’ll have to study hard, it provides you with a fast way to get a great career that will bring you many other benefits.

Reason #2 – Education May Be Free

In some cases, the education may be free, which is another reason you should become a CNA. There are many nursing homes, hospitals, and other medical facilities, that will pay for your education. The only caveat is that you must promise to work for them for a specified time period. This is actually a great benefit. Not only will you get your education for free, but you’ll have a guaranteed job when you are done as well.

If you are not able to find a program that allows you to become a certified nursing assistant free, you will still find that the cost of certification is reasonable. Depending on the school you attend for your classes, tuition for the course can cost you between $500 and $1500. This is a reasonable price when you consider that the training will help you land a good job that will bring in a nice paycheck.

You will also find that there is a big demand for CNAs right now as well. The baby boomer generation is now growing older, and they need health services. This has led to a big demand in the medical field. Although many job markets have slowed down recently, the medical field is still a growing job market. It means you’ll be able to find a good job now and you’ll have great job security in the future as well.

Another reason you should consider becoming a certified nursing assistant is because this is a fulfilling career. If you enjoy helping people and making a difference, this is a job that you will enjoy. It takes a short amount of time, sometimes you can find free programs, it will provide you with a great income, and there is a big demand for workers in this field.
